Newsletter April 2026
Welcome back, we hope you had a lovely Easter break.
This is a short, 5 week term with a bank holiday on Monday 4th May.
Half term week is 25th to 29th May, so we will see you back on Monday 1st June.
Reminders:
As the weather is getter warmer, please apply suncream before nursery and let us know if you have forgot as we have spare here.
The big sand pit is open and the children are loving it, but to help us can you please label their shoes and have a go and teaching your child to put socks in shoes when they take them off, as your child might go home in someone elses.
Don’t forget we offer lunch club from 12.30 to 1pm for £3. Bring your own healthy (no nuts) lunch box on the day. This is especially good for school leavers and will get them ready to have lunch in a school environment.
Do you have any old rolls of wallpaper laying around at home? We would appreciate any donations if so, a very useful item for us.
The children have been enjoying the hungry caterpillar and exploring the bugs in the garden, so we are going to do a 2 week theme on this from next week. We have purchased 10 caterpillars to watch grow and change into butterflies, which the children will release into the garden.
Ideas for home , to show you how a topic of interest can help children with all areas of learning.
Days of the week- and use the makaton sign- hopefully most children will know this from their time here.
Nutirition and food groups- talk about healthy choices and what the food groups do for our bodies.
Life cycles- how insects change and grow.
Care of the environment and things in it- show children how important wildlife is to us
Lots of fine motor and gross motor activities such as pretending to be an emerging butterfly or making a caterpillar craft.
Read and sing and introduce new words such as chrysalis and metamorhis.
Thank you for your support. Any ideas or input from our families is gratefully received.
