Term 6 Newsletters 2024
Summer Newsletter June 2024
Welcome back everyone, hope you had a lovely break.
Reminder; end of term is Monday 22nd July
We have a kind friend that grows plants for us to sell, so we will have a table top plant sale starting soon. Perfect time for summer and making your gardens pretty.
We will be raising caterpillars into butterflies in our habitat kit for release– a very exciting event for the children.
Following on from All About Me theme, we will be learning about My Daily Routine this term.
Ideas for home to help reinforce learning; We always have a related song so you might hear this at home but perhaps you can make up your own as you are getting up in the morning or walking to school etc. This covers several areas of learning such as expressive art and communication and social skills.
For maths you can discuss times of the day, morning afternoon etc and time of events through the day.
Talk about how its important to have routine, and include exercise, keeping healthy, rest etc as part of your routine. Routine is important as we grow and move on to big school and work- which covers knowledge and understanding of the world.
The theme embeds previous areas such as emotions- eg how we feel when we are tired, keeping healthy and we will also link it to growing and moving on to big school.
We will include lots of school role play this term as we are nearing the end of the academic year, to help with the leavers transition, along with learning about summer and the change in season.
Please remember sun cream, hats, labels, and preferably filled in shoes. If you need any help with this please let us know. Thank you x
Newsletter July 2024
Dear families.
We can’t believe it’s another year over and we will soon be saying goodbye to some of you. To celebrate the school leavers new journey, we will be throwing in a few fun games on our last day - Monday 22nd July. It will be a normal session other than that but we will also have snack time all together.
Also, for the school leavers only, we would like to ask parents to come in 15 minutes early so you can share a bit of time with your childs key person.
A few reminders – if you would please leave all toys from home with you as it causes distress at nursery.
Please continue to wash your childs hands on entry and support them to put their photo on the board.
We will remove the leaving families from the whatsapp group once we have broken up for summer.
We return on Monday 2nd September and look forward to seeing you all again. Our theme will be all about colours and shapes, more information to follow in September.
Last of all, thank you so much for sharing your children’s learning journey with us. We are very proud of how they have grown in so many ways. We truly love every minute of it.
We wish lots of happiness to everyone that’s moving on. Have a wonderful summer- when the sun eventually appears- and take care.
From all of us at St Andrews
